bcb723 "Back home at 94" indeed. Rogga Johansson strikes again on what is like his 28th release of the year (I'm kidding but not by much). This is extremely enjoyable melodic thrash with many memorable tunes to revisit. I just hope Rogga saved some more riffs for 2021... Favorite track: The Calling.

H.L. FURNACE play a lively version of dark metal. There is as much death metal included as classic gothic metal, similar to Paradise Lost in the 90s maybe. Only the drum sound is a bit too much tin drum, too present and not powerful enough. But besides that, I really appreciate this traditional approach as it sounds timeless and is rare to find nowadays. Favorite track: The Other Ones.

about

Conceptual death metal in a both melodic, thrashing and gothic setting. What if Paradise Lost, Deceased and any Swedish death metal band of choice came together for a full on story telling album? Well then you´d have FURNACE´s "Dark Vistas". Comprised of members from Paganizer, Demiurg and Assassins Blade aswell as Cult of the Fox and Void Moon this Swedish outfit explores a new melodic death metal vista of sorts. Its still death metal but its also much more, delve deep into the Lovecraftian and cult riddled mythos of FURNACE with "Dark Vistas".
