VAST DEFERENS
VAST DEFERENS thumbnail
VAST DEFERENS Khold's guitar tone curses like the swarthiest sailor--a true tooth-bearing nihilism pervades these monolithic tracks to Hell. Favorite track: Dystopi.

fyeahmetal Less truly is more with Khold. The songs seem deceptively simple, but everything fits together so tightly and powerfully. Each time I listen, I have a different favorite song, which is a good sign. This album is sort of a culmination of the Hellhammer family tree, where the basic midtempo ground warfare template gets refined and strengthened over time, until what was once primitive is now an impenetrable juggernaut. Favorite track: Skarpretter.

Ghallegho Errante So Dark... and Sublime!!!
bellvmromanvm

bellvmromanvm Savage, straightforward, old-school riffing, just like always.

These dudes are a black metal answer to AC/DC or Motorhead, always delivering the goods with no-bullshit black 'n' roll.

Their other band Tulus are excellent as well! Favorite track: I Demonens Bok.

mourner Perfectly produced, mostly mid-tempo black'n'roll. The songs are well written, very heavy and groovy - and keep up the tension although they are not the most brutal, crushing or dark. The vocals are to die for and the whole album is an intense experience you won't miss. Svartsyn feels like coming home 🖤 Favorite track: Apostel.

Rich Kinman I saw this one in Decibel magazine and then listened to it just a little bit and knew I was getting this right from the start. Damn good!

about

After 8 long years, Khold returns with a new studio album!
What you get is 10 heavy new tracks, and Khold remains true to
their original principle.
Down tuned, rough, mid paced, painful…
A strong musical backbone and clever musicianship...
The groove, the drive and the heavy guitar riffs...
Raw and primitive...
Old school? Maybe, but yet so much more.
The way you know them, the way you want them...
The way they always have been and always will be...
True to the soul of Norwegian black metal!
Khold.
